England have reached the netball final at the Commonwealth Games courtesy of a thrilling 56-55 victory over Jamaica this afternoon.
The semi-final contest went down to the wire as both teams did battle for the opportunity to win gold, and in the end it was England who recorded a memorable victory at the Coomera Sports Centre on the Gold Coast.
Tracey Neville's side needed to come from behind to seal the win, with Jamaica pulling clear after a drawn first quarter to take a six-point lead into half time.
England reduced that deficit by two in the third quarter to set up a blockbuster finale, and they managed to take the fourth 13-8 to clinch a one-point victory in dramatic circumstances, guaranteeing themselves a medal.
England - who have now won all six of their matches on the Gold Coast - will face either Australia or New Zealand in the gold-medal match, with the loser of that second semi-final taking on Jamaica for bronze.
