Chelsea launch 'The Simpsons' merchandise range

A number of Chelsea players become The Simpsons characters for a new range of merchandise.

Chelsea have announced a deal with long-running animated series The Simpsons for a range of merchandise, which sees several of the club's players drawn in the style of characters from the show.

John Terry, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech are among those to be turned into cartoons for the range, which will be on sale through the club later this year.

Fernando Torres, who also features, revealed the images on Twitter earlier.

"It's great to see myself and the other players as Simpsons characters. The Simpsons was and still is my favourite show, and is now my kids' too. I can't wait to see what Bart and Homer will look like as Chelsea players," the Daily Mail quotes the team's captain as saying.

Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay added: "We are very pleased to announce such an exciting partnership. The Simpsons is a hugely popular show and I hope Chelsea fans will enjoy seeing its main characters in our colours."

The players have been drawn shopping in the Kwik-E-Mart and drinking at Moe's Tavern for the range.
