England-Wales game to be moved for TV?

The BBC and ITV are planning to petition UEFA to move the Euro 2016 clash between England and Wales from 2pm to a more primetime TV slot.

The clash between England and Wales at the European Championships in France next summer could reportedly be moved for the benefit of UK TV audiences.

The two nations, who have been drawn in Group B alongside Russia and Slovakia, are currently scheduled to face off in Lens, Northern France, at 2pm on Thursday, June 16.

However, the BBC and ITV - joint broadcasters of the tournament in the UK - are planning to petition UEFA to switch the fixture to an evening kickoff to maximise domestic exposure.

The move could require a swap with one of the two other games scheduled for that day, with Ukraine taking on Northern Ireland at 5pm and Germany playing Poland in the prime 8pm slot.
