Robbie Savage blasts the price of the new England kit as "scandalous".

Robbie Savage has slammed the Football Association as "scandalous" for charging £90 for the latest England kit.

The Three Lions had their new strip, which will be worn at this summer's World Cup, unveiled earlier this week, and prime minister David Cameron conceded that the cost was "very expensive".

Savage has blasted the price tag, and said that he is in full agreement with the PM.

He told The Mirror: "Replica kits have long been milked as a method of fleecing fans. But £90 for an England shirt is not just taking them for a ride... it's scandalous.

"When the prime minister gets involved, and says the price is too steep, you know there is a problem. Heaven help a family of four who shell out for England shirts this summer. It would probably be cheaper to jump on a flight to Brazil.

"To justify the ludicrous price, the Football Association claim profits will be invested into grassroots football. But how many more times are they going to rip off fans while trotting out the same lines? It's not even a year since the last England shirt was launched."

England will play Uruguay, Costa Rica and Italy in their group games this summer.
