Inverness Caledonian Thistle investigating porn tweet

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are left red-faced after their official Twitter account 'likes' an explicit Twitter post.

Scottish Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle has launched an investigation to determine how its official Twitter account came to 'like' an X-rated Twitter post.

The club was left red-faced after its social media profile engaged with an explicit video tweeted by 'PornHubVids'.

The post was later deleted, but not before a number of Twitter users were able to capture a screenshot of Caley Thistle's interaction and share it across the social network.

After the controversy came to light, the club's hierarchy issued a statement condemning "inappropriate" use of its social media account and promised to deal with the matter.

"The ICT board of directors are aware that on the evening of July 27 2017, there was activity on the official club Twitter account which we deem to be entirely inappropriate and unacceptable," the statement read.

"Procedures kicked in to remove the offending material and immediately lock down the account.

"ICT has notified the appropriate authorities and a formal investigation is underway. The club will revert with more information upon conclusion of the investigation.

"The ICT board of directors assure our staff and supporters that we will take all steps to identify the circumstances of this infringement and that steps will be taken to prevent recurrence."

However, former Caley player Josh Meekings made light of the matter, jokingly tweeting "who's in charge?"
