Hollywood actor Will Ferrell has put his name forward for the role of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy in an upcoming film, but only in his "fatter years".
Producer Adrian Butchart, who worked on the Goal! movie franchise, is working on a new film about Vardy's rise from non-League football to Premier League champion.
The 29-year-old, who is the first footballer to score in 11 consecutive games in the top flight, held talks with the filmmakers during a trip to Los Angeles last week.
During Leicester's pre-season tour in the US, comedy actor Ferrell was introduced to the players and believes that he could portray the footballer.
"I think I could," Ferrell told CNN. "I would have to play him in his later, fatter years, but I don't think I could play him in his football playing days."
Vardy committed his future to Leicester last month after snubbing a move to Arsenal.
