Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard joined his teammate Mamadou Sakho on a charity trip to Paris just one day after the team suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Sakho decided to invite Gerrard, who missed Saturday's game as he served the first of a three-match suspension, to his homeland in aid of the Mamadou Sakho Association.
The defender, who is known for his regular charity work, took Gerrard to Stade Dejerine, which is the home stadium of third-tiered French side Paris FC.
The Reds skipper took to Instagram to express his delight at helping Sakho with his latest charity venture. The midfielder wrote: "It's been a pleasure today to be invited to Paris to support my friend @mamadousakho3 and see the great work he is doing with his charity."
With regards to matters on the pitch, Liverpool are preparing to take on Blackburn Rovers in an FA Cup quarter-final replay on Wednesday.
