Jordan Henderson: Emre Can dismissal "a little harsh"

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson claims that Emre Can's sending off in their defeat to Arsenal was "a little harsh".

Jordan Henderson has claimed that Emre Can's sending off in Liverpool's Premier League defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium was "a little harsh."

The Germany Under-21 international picked up a second booking for a foul on Danny Welbeck late on in their 4-1 defeat, which means that he will miss the team's FA Cup quarter-final replay with Blackburn Rovers next week.

Henderson, who wore the captain's armband this afternoon, told BT Sport: "I thought it was a little harsh. I felt he just tried to press shim, slipped and went into the player. It is a blow that he is now suspended."

Liverpool are also currently missing captain Steven Gerrard and defender Martin Skrtel throughout suspension.
