Daniel Sturridge reveals he would have been an actor if football failed

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge reveals that he would have become an actor had he failed to make it in football.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has revealed that he would have pursued a career in acting if he had failed to make it in football.

The England international has been leading the line for the Reds alongside striker Luis Suarez this season.

Due to the pair's goals, Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League table, seven points adrift of leaders Chelsea.

Although Sturridge's football career appears to be going from strength to strength, the 24-year-old has revealed that he had a back-up plan if things did not work out on the pitch.

"I like producing music, and the theatre," Sturridge told the Daily Mail. "I like going to the theatre. I was decent at school and if I hadn't been a footballer I would have been an actor."

The Reds will take on bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
