The wife of Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has revealed her hopes that the couple's third baby is a girl.

Coleen Rooney and her husband announced last month that they are expecting a baby in January.

The couple, who have been in a relationship since they were teenagers, are already parents to sons Kai, five, and two-year-old Klay.

In an interview with OK! magazine, Coleen revealed that she and Wayne are "definitely not" discovering the sex of the baby before the birth.

"Hopefully the anticipation of the sex will make the labour go a bit quicker," the 29-year-old said. "It's also exciting for the boys not to know whether they'll be having a little brother or sister. I'd love a girl because it would complete the family."

Coleen and Wayne married in Italy back in 2008.
