Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney took part in a fake stand-off with WWE star Wade Barrett during a WWE Raw show at the Manchester Arena on Monday night.
Rooney, who will travel to Alicante with his England teammates this week for a friendly against Spain, was ringside for the performance.
Barrett decided to pick a fight with the footballer by taking the microphone and saying: "In this ring are two men who can be easily be described as championship material, which, of course, is more than can be said of Wayne Rooney and Manchester United."
The British WWE star then confronted Rooney and after a few choice words, the England skipper slapped Barrett around the face, much to the pleasure of the crowd.
