Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley 'scraps free tickets for staff'

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley reportedly tries to cut down costs by stopping the club's backroom staff from having free tickets to matches.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has reportedly stopped giving free tickets to staff members in a bid to cut down costs.

Common practice at St James' Park meant that senior coaches would be allowed to bring four guests to home fixtures in an executive box.

However, according to The Mirror, manager Alan Pardew's backroom staff, including assistant John Carver and coach Steve Stone, have been told that they will now have to pay for their guest passes.

It is unknown whether Pardew has been directly affected by the cost-cutting measure.
