Egyptian coach Hossam Al-Badry has been shot at at his home in Libya hours after his team Al Ahli Tripoli drew 1-1 against Al Sowaihili.
However, the 53-year-old, who took the job after guiding Cairo-based side Ah-Ahly to the African Champions League title in November, escaped unscathed.
Football only resumed in the conflict-torn Arab state last month, and the incident will raise question marks about safety ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
"Our coach was shot at, at his home after a match in the league against Al Sowaihili that ended 1-1," Reuters quotes a spokesman for the club as saying.
"Al-Badry is safe but upset after what happened. Three men in a car shot at [him]. The police have launched a full scale investigation."
The 2011 conflict in Libya brought an end to the reign of dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
