Stuart Hall: 'Boxing saved my life'

IBF batamweight champion Stuart Hall believes that he would have died if he had not quit his party lifestyle to focus on boxing.

Stuart Hall has said that he believes he would be dead if he had not quit his party lifestyle to focus on boxing.

The 33-year-old, who won the IBF bantamweight title on Saturday, spent five years partying in Ibiza before returning to the UK to box.

"If I hadn't come back to England and started fighting again, I honestly think I would be dead," The Mirror quotes Hall as saying.

"If I hadn't made the decision to stop when I did, I'm pretty sure I would be dead by now. My life was going nowhere and, thankfully, something went off inside me telling me enough was enough.

"I was abusing my body, so I got a flight back to England and was back in the boxing gym before the following weekend."

Hall has fought in 19 professional contests since making his debut in 2008, winning 16, losing two and drawing once.
