Former Great Britain Olympian Donna Hartley-Wass dies at the age of 58.

Former Great Britain Olympian Donna Hartley-Wass has passed away at the age of 58 while sunbathing in her garden.

Hartley-Wass, who won bronze in the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow in the 4x400m, is said to have been found by her husband Bobby Knutt on a sun lounger.

"We were married 26 years and we had never had a row or cross word," the Daily Mail quotes Knutt as saying. "She was the great love of my life. Nobody will ever take her place.

"She was the kindest person in the world. Everybody loved her and nobody had a bad word to say about her. She was an absolute princess."

The former 400m runner also clinched a double commonwealth gold in 1978.
