Former tennis player Henri Leconte has revealed that he was initially asked by producers to star in a French reality TV survival show that tragically became the scene of the deaths of three sports stars.
Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat, 25, Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine, 28, and yachtswoman Florence Arthaud, 57, all died when two helicopters collided while shooting the show Dropped in Argentina.
According to The Telegraph, Leconte said: "I am shocked and devastated. I learned this morning, very early on television. I'm even more shocked because they contacted me to take part, but I couldn't."
In all, 10 people, including both helicopter pilots, perished in the crash.
