American Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte lends his name and face to the Water for People campaign, which is working to bring better access to clean water in developing countries.

American Olympic gold medallist Ryan Lochte has joined the Water for People campaign, which aims to bring cleaner water to developing countries.

The 28-year-old swimmer and his compatriot Conor Dwyer have filmed a public service announcement backing countries, including India, to receive better access to drinking water as well as sanitation facilities.

The organisation, which is a non-profit group based in Denver, Colorado, also focuses on hygiene education programs.

Water for People is currently working in countries including, Uganda, Peru, Ecuador, Rwanda and Honduras.
