Former American Football player OJ Simpson has been freed on parole after nine years in a Nevada prison.
The 70-year-old had been serving time for armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and 10 other charges over a 2007 confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel.
Simpson was sentenced to up to 33 years at Lovelock Correctional Center but won parole in July due to good behaviour and other credits earned in custody.
In a Facebook post, Nevada Department of Corrections released an image and video of Simpson signing documents and leaving the facility early on Sunday, confirming that he had been released at 12.08am (7.08am GMT).
In 1995, Simpson was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goodman.
