Oscar Pistorius is due back at the High Court in Pretoria, South Africa this morning to be sentenced for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The Paralympic champion was found guilty of culpable homicide (manslaughter), but was cleared of murder.
The 27-year-old denied murder by claiming that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he fired four gunshots through a toilet door at his home in Pretoria in the early hours of Valentine's Day last year.
Pistorius faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, but could also be given a suspended sentence by Judge Thokozile Masipa or a fine.
Proceedings at the High Court could last the week as the judge prepares to hear legal arguments before delivering the final sentence.
