Former England footballer Ray Wilkins has been given a 10-week suspended jail sentence and a four-year driving ban for drinking and driving.
The 59-year-old, who pleaded guilty to the offence at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court, was seen in his Mercedes in the middle of a bus lane on the A4 in London on July 1.
Wilkins, who told the court that he was an alcoholic, was nearly three times over the legal limit and was seen striking a kerb and drinking alcohol from a bottle behind the wheel.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan midfielder played 84 times for England, including at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
