Ex-cricketer Phil Tufnell to unveil art at solo exhibition next month

Former England cricketer Phil Tufnell will reportedly display his artwork at a solo exhibition next month.

Former England cricketer Phil Tufnell is reportedly planning to unveil his artwork at an exhibition in Birmingham next week.

The 48-year-old has created paintings relating to his alter ego 'The Cat' and experiences from his sporting career.

The pieces, which include 'Lucky Cat' and 'Rain Stops Play', could be shown as part of his first solo exhibition at a secret location in Birmingham on September 2.

"I wanted to get my personality into my art and with the help of a mentor artist I really think it's worked," the Daily Star quotes Tufnell as saying.

"I used to be called 'The Cat' so I thought there would be no better subject for me to start with."

Tufnell retired from cricket in 2002.
