Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc swept up in sexism row

French head coach Laurent Blanc is accused of sexism following an exchange with a Swedish female journalist at a press conference.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Laurent Blanc appears to have landed himself in a sexism row following an exchange with a female journalist.

The 48-year-old was answering questions at a press conference in Paris this week when Swedish reporter Johanna Franden, who works for Aftonbladet newspaper, questioned the coach about his team formations.

According to 101greatgoals.com, Franden said: "You started the season playing 4-4-2 but switched to 4-3-3 after a couple of matches..."

Blanc responded by saying: "I mean, women talking football tactics, it's so beautiful. I think it's fantastic! You know what 4-3-3 means, don't you?"

The female journalist answered by insisting that it is her job to know, to which Blanc replied: "I mean, there's a lot of ways of playing. Haha, I'm just joking."

Blanc has been criticised by the French media as well as on social networking outlets following the exchange.
