Cricket commentator David 'Bumble' Lloyd has revealed that he mistook Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson for a member of a boyband.

The 66-year-old recalled the encounter while commentating during England's 347-run win over Australia in the second Ashes Test at Lord's.

The commentator revealed that he saw Dawson at the cricket ground, and while he recognised the defender's face, he failed to remember that he was a footballer and instead thought he was a singer.

Dawson has since flown out with his Tottenham teammates to Hong Kong as part of their pre-season tour.
