Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson says that the club will work hard during pre-season in order to be ready for the 2013-14 campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson has insisted that he and his teammates will be ready for the new Premier League season.

The North London outfit will head to Asia for the pre-season tournament at the end of July where they will take on Premier League sides Sunderland and Manchester City.

"It will be interesting to go away and play English teams in pre-season," Dawson told the club's official website. "I'm sure it will be good test and the atmosphere will fantastic out there.

"It's all about hard work and preparing for the first game of the season. That's the most important thing. It's pre-season, we'll be focused and all working towards that first game against Crystal Palace."

Meanwhile, away from the pitch, Spurs will be trying to keep hold of star Gareth Bale, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
