West Ham United have threatened to issue lifelong bans to supporters if they are found guilty of singing anti-Semitic chants after a video emerged online of an incident from the weekend.

A group of Hammers fans are believed to have chanted, "I've got a foreskin, how about you? Fucking Jew," while on the London Underground prior to their side's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Anti-discrimination organisation Kick It Out have reported the video to the police.

"If any individual is found to have behaved in an inappropriate way, the club's simple, zero-tolerance policy dictates that they will face the strongest possible action, including the option of a life ban from the Boleyn Ground," the Daily Mail quotes a West Ham spokesman as saying.

"If anyone has any information on such behaviour we would urge them to report it to the club, Kick It Out or the police so it can be investigated thoroughly."

Tottenham have called for punishment after the video emerged on social media.
