British intelligence agency MI6 are investigating death threats made against Great Britain's Elise Christie, according to the speed skater's mother.
Christie recently revealed that she has endured cyber-bullying during the Winter Olympics, before being offered extra security.
Now, threats made against the athlete, who was disqualified for the third successive time on Friday, are to be investigated further.
"The big concern was the death threats. But that's over and been investigated by MI6," Christie's mother, Angela Wright, is quoted as saying by the Daily Record.
"The pages have been removed and Elise has been advised not to have them back on again by the appropriate agencies. They've got to treat any security threat as a problem."
Christie had previously said that she was close to quitting the Games in Sochi.
