The head of the A-League has warned that anyone found guilty of rioting before last Saturday's match between Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory will be banned for five years.
A number of Wanderers fans fought with each other prior to the game, resulting in two supporters being arrested and charged by police.
There were also flares set off in the stands, and Damien De Bohun has stressed that there would be zero tolerance towards those found guilty, adding that they would also be banned from attending matches at next year's World Cup.
"Anyone who is found guilty of that type of behaviour will be banned for five years. Not just A-League fixtures, but any fixtures of the FFA (Football Federation Australia). So if they were planning a trip to Brazil for the World Cup, that's over as well," the Daily Mail quotes De Bohun as saying.
The match ended 1-1.
