A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters have voiced their displeasure regarding a feature that was run by broadcaster ITV before Saturday's FA Cup final between Wigan Athletic and Manchester City.
Wigan owner Dave Whelan famously suffered a broken leg in a challenge with Norman Deeley during the 1960 final while he was playing for Blackburn Rovers against Wolves.
Whelan was asked about the incident by ITV reporter Gabriel Clarke, to which he replied: "It was a tough game then, and I tackled Norman Deeley and tackled him rough and tough, and he retaliated by coming over the ball. He did not intend to break my leg, but if you're going over the ball, there's always a chance."
The businessman also said that he was disappointed to not have received an apology from either Deeley or Wolves.
Wolves fans were further enraged by presenter Adrian Chiles, who described Deeley's actions as an "horrific tackle".
A number of them have now emailed ITV to complain about their coverage, while the club confirmed on Twitter that they may also make contact with the broadcaster.
"There are also plans to assess the balance of the coverage Robert. Club may contact ITV to put points across if not," read a message on their official page.
So far, ITV are yet to publicly respond.
