Jockey Eddie Ahern has lodged an appeal to overturn the 10-year ban issued to him by the British Horseracing Authority for being found guilty of corruption.
A disciplinary panel announced the suspension this week after it was discovered that Ahern had breached rules relating to five of his rides between September 2010 and March 2011.
Ahern has decided to fight against the corruption charges, but according to a statement made by the BHA, a date of the hearing is yet to be decided.
Meanwhile, owner and former West Bromwich Albion defender Neil Clement was served a 15-year ban and a £30,000 fine for his part in breaching regulations, which included "placing a lay bet on a horse which he then owned".
