Hull Kingston Rovers beat Warrington Wolves to make Challenge Cup final

Hull Kingston Rovers beat Warrington Wolves 26-18 to reach the Challenge Cup final for the first time in 29 years.

Hull Kingston Rovers are through to their first Challenge Cup final since 1986 with a pulsating 26-18 win over Warrington Wolves.

KR made a sloppy start as they booted the ball out on the full at the kickoff, and they were made to pay as Warrington scored the first try one minute later.

A slick right-to-left move culminated with Ryan Atkins powering across the line, while Gareth O'Brien succeeded with his conversion.

The Wolves maintained a high tempo for the first 20 minutes, but they were caught out at the other end as Hull scored two tries in two minutes to take the lead.

First, Kieran Dixon set up Australian winger Josh Mantellato to dive over, before Ken Sio caught an Albert Kelly cross-kick to slam the ball down.

Their momentum continued after the break as Frenchman Kevin Larroyer barged his way through the Wolves defence to score his side's third try, before Mantellato added a penalty.

Warrington got themselves back in the game through Richie Myler, who darted down the line before touching down, but Joel Monaghan's effort was ruled out minutes later.

However, Myler set up Ben Currie to score and bring the gap down to just four points with 13 minutes left, before O'Brien nailed the conversion to add two more.

Hull wrapped up the match just eight minutes later though, as Shaun Lunt evaded a tackle to ground the ball under the posts.
