Rangi Chase faces dangerous throw charge

Salford Red Devils' Rangi Chase could miss up to eight matches after being charged with making a dangerous throw on Brett Ferres in the win over Huddersfield Giants.

Rangi Chase has been charged with making a dangerous throw during Salford Red Devils' win over Huddersfield Giants last week.

The RFL has charged the half-back with a Group E offence for his tackle of Brett Ferres, which ruled the forward out of the Giants' defeat to Hull Kingston Rovers earlier through injury.

The offence carries a ban of between four and eight matches, with a hearing set to take place on Wednesday to determine the severity of the punishment.

Salford are up to third in the Super League table after beating Wigan Warriors earlier.
