Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash believes that the Super League should relax their salary cap for one major high-profile player per club.
Koukash believes that the allowance would help the league keep their top players and reduce the competition from Australia and rugby union.
"It would be so much better for a club to know they can go out at any time and make a major signing to help the squad," Koukash told the Manchester Evening News.
"I would welcome this and it's why I have already talked about signing top rugby union players. If Salford have to strengthen, I want the opportunity to and an exemption provides it."
The businessman's original proposal was rejected, but reports have claimed that it will be reconsidered tomorrow.
