Bath through after Glasgow Warriors win

Bath book their place in the knockout stages of the European Rugby Champions Cup with a 20-15 victory over Glasgow Warriors.

Bath have booked their place in the knockout rounds of the European Rugby Champions Cup with a 20-15 win over Glasgow Warriors at the Recreation Ground.

Both sides went into the clash with hopes of qualifying for the next stage, and it was Glasgow who drew blood first when Alex Dunbar went over inside the opening five minutes.

George Ford pushed a penalty wide for the hosts, then elected to kick for touch after winning a penalty inside Glasgow's 22 to excite the home support. However, from the resulting lineout Bath knocked on and the attack broke down.

The home side finally got some points on the board when Ford kicked between the posts after Glasgow were penalised for illegally interrupting a Bath line-out.

Ford's boot brought Bath closer to parity with a further penalty shortly before half time, taking the score to 7-6 at the break.

Richie Vernon extended Glasgow's lead with a smart try eight minutes into the second half, before Bath went ahead for the first time when they were awarded a penalty try in the 52nd minute.

However, Finn Russell's penalty then handed the lead back to the Warriors, before a second penalty try put Bath 20-15 ahead with less than 15 minutes remaining.

The Warriors put Bath under sustained pressure in the final minutes, but Mike Ford's side held on to advance to the next round.
