Stuart Lancaster has dropped four players ahead of England's Test match against South Africa at the weekend.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster will make four changes to his side ahead of their meeting with South Africa.

Thomas Waldrom, Tom Johnson and Charlie Sharples have all been dropped for Saturday's Test at Twickenham while Joe Marler will miss the match after straining ligaments in his knee during the 20-14 defeat to Australia.

Lancaster has included Alex Corbisiero, James Haskell, Ben Morgan and Jonathan Joseph in his squad for their clash with the Springbok, and believes that the changes will add an energy and balance to the side.

"The changes give opportunities to those who have been pushing hard and we feel will add energy and balance to the team," said Lancaster.

"Unfortunately that means one or two players miss out who were in the matchday squad against Australia. But they have all added value with their contributions in training and the games and I am sure they will be looking to play well for their clubs and force their way back in."

Lancaster will announce his starting lineup for the match on Thursday.
