Eddie Jones has insisted that he has not been contacted about becoming the next head coach of England.

The 55-year-old has been linked with the position following the resignation of Stuart Lancaster on Wednesday, which came following England's group-stage exit from the Rugby World Cup on home soil.

Jones has recently taken charge of South African side Stormers, having led Japan at the World Cup, and the Australian has made it clear that he is fully focused on his new job.

"There has been no contact [from England] and I am committed to the Stormers," he told The Guardian. "I woke up this morning and looked at Table Mountain - I'm very happy to be here.

"Western Province is one of the oldest and most prestigious unions in the world, with 125 years of history at this ground. It's a fantastic city and the opportunity to coach the Stormers is wonderful."

Australia coach Michael Cheika and former South Africa coach Jake White have also been linked with the England job.
