England thrash sorry Barbarians

England run in 10 tries as they hammer the Barbarians 73-12 at Twickenham.

England's preparations for the Rugby World Cup have got off to an emphatic start with a 73-12 victory over the Barbarians at Twickenham.

The hosts ran in a total of 10 tries as they brushed their opponents aside with ease.

Marlon Yarde's early try was converted by Danny Cipriani to get the ball rolling, but the Baa-Baas hit back soon after as skipper Brad Thorn went over to make it 7-5.

However, England went into overdrive during the remainder of the first half. Christian Wade's two tries were complemented by scores from Ed Slater, Jack Clifford and Cipriani, who kicked over an additional 13 points to give England a resounding 45-5 lead at the break.

The home side extended their advantage just a minute into the second period as Cipriani added the extras to a Henry Slade try.

The Barbarians managed to get some more points on the board when Tusi Pisi kicked between the posts following Thomas Waldrom's score, but England were on the rampage again soon after as Cipriani converted Josh Beaumont's try.

A successful afternoon for England was completed during the final minutes as Cipriani took his personal tally to 31 points after Wade's hat-trick try and a score of his own.
