Harlequins began their Aviva Premiership campaign with a 29-24 win over London Irish at Twickenham this afternoon.
Quins took an early lead thanks to fly-half Nick Evans's boot and a James Johnston try, as fullback Tom Homer did his best to keep the opposition in the contest.
Two tries from Topsy Ojo in the first 15 minutes after the break gave the Exiles hope.
However, an Ugo Monye try on the hour and three second-half penalties from Evans proved to be enough for Harlequins to hold on to, despite a late Irish rally.
