Mark Wilson: 'Still plenty on the line for Newcastle Falcons'

Mark Wilson targets a top-10 finish in the Aviva Premiership this season as Newcastle Falcons aim to end their season on a high.

Mark Wilson has insisted that Newcastle Falcons still have plenty to play for in their final three games of the season.

The Falcons have won just four games all term in the Aviva Premiership, the last of which came against bottom club London Welsh in January.

Despite their current lowly predicament, relegation is out of the question, while their cup exploits have long since been over.

Wilson is still very much focused on ending the season on a high though, telling Chronicle Live: "Some people might say there is nothing to play for, but for us there is everything.

"We are attaching a lot of importance to climbing into 10th place now, and that is our goal. There are 15 points left up for grabs and all three games are winnable.

"We have to go down to Gloucester in two weeks and really believe we can turn them over. We did it up here against them, and it has to be a case of let's just go down there and have a crack."

Following that trip to Gloucester Rugby, Newcastle take on Sale Sharks and Harlequins in the final weeks of the campaign.
