Alex King: 'George North likely to be involved again this season'

Northampton Saints attack coach Alex King insists that George North will only return to action once he is "100%" ready.

Northampton Saints remain confident that Wales international George North will be fit to play a part in their Aviva Premiership playoff campaign.

The 23-year-old has taken a prolonged break from rugby after suffering three head injuries in the space of five months.

North was also knocked unconscious twice in a Six Nations clash against England in February, while he suffered a nasty injury when colliding with Nathan Hughes during the Saints' 52-30 win over Wasps in March.

However, the winger is winning his battle to regain fitness ahead of the end-of-season run-in, and could return in the coming weeks.

"George is continuing to improve and is making good progress," ESPN quotes Saints attack coach Alex King as saying. "The specialist is happy with how things are going and we hope that George will be involved again this season.

"George's health is absolutely paramount. We will make sure that when he does play, he will be 100%. When he is fit to resume his full duties, he will be part of the selection process."

North is unlikely to feature against London Welsh this coming weekend, although he may play a part against Leicester Tigers on May 16.
