David Seymour hails Sale Sharks youngsters

Sale Sharks back-row David Seymour backs the club to push on during the new season due to the youngsters coming through at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Sale Sharks back-row David Seymour has claimed that the future looks bright for the club due to the youngsters coming through at the AJ Bell Stadium.

The Sharks finished last season in seventh place in the Aviva Premiership table despite losing five of their last seven games.

Seymour has suggested that the team can push on during the upcoming campaign thanks to the latest batch of hungry young talent at the club.

"We've got an amazing group of youngsters coming through," he told Sale's official website. "This time last year, not many people would have heard of Mike Haley or Josh Beaumont. And if you look at them now, they are some of the biggest names at the club - with Josh playing for England against Barbarians and Mike is coming on leaps and bounds.

"Ross Harrison is only four games away from hitting 100 appearances and not many 22-year-olds have done that. Our youngsters really step up and that's a massive thing about this club. Every year, there are two or three names who you haven't heard of, and this time next year they'll be regulars in the side."

Sale start the new league season with a trip to champions Saracens on October 17.
