Samoa centre George Pisi banned for six weeks

Samoa centre George Pisi is banned for six weeks after pleading guilty to a dangerous tackle on Ireland's Tommy Bowe on Saturday.

Samoa centre George Pisi has been banned for six weeks because of a tackle on Ireland's Tommy Bowe on Saturday.

Northampton Saints man Pisi was yellow-carded for a 'tip tackle', which he today pleaded guilty to before an independent three-man disciplinary panel in London.

Pisi claimed that the incident did not warrant a red card, but the panel disagreed and gave him an eight-week suspension that was extended to 10 weeks before being reduced to six weeks because of various mitigating factors.

Pisi, who has the right of appeal, cannot play again until December 23.
