Tommy Seymour: 'Great vibe around Scotland camp'

Tommy Seymour says that Scotland's first win on home soil in 12 months can help act as a turning point with the World Cup now less than a year away.

Scotland winger Tommy Seymour has insisted that his side are heading in the right direction following yesterday's 41-31 victory over Argentina.

The 26-year-old scored the hosts' fifth try of the evening to help secure a first win over the South American outfit at Murrayfield in 24 years.

It was also the first time that Scotland have won on home soil in 12 months, which Seymour hopes will act as a turning point in the nation's fortunes.

"There is a great vibe around the place," he is quoted as saying by ESPN. "That's not to say there wasn't one last year but there were a couple of results then that we were disappointed with.

"Greig Laidlaw said a very key line in the dressing room before the game about drawing a line and moving past stuff that has happened. It's a huge year for us with the World Cup coming up and we just need to go out and focus on playing the type of rugby we want to produce. Saturday was one foot in the right direction."

Scotland take on world champions New Zealand in their next Autumn International clash next weekend.
