Two-time world championship finalist Ali Carter gets the all-clear from cancer ahead of his snooker return.

World number 15 Ali Carter has announced his comeback plans after being given the all-clear from cancer.

The 33-year-old revealed that he had testicular cancer at the beginning of the month and underwent an operation shortly afterwards.

Carter revealed the news on his Twitter account and gave details of his return to the game.

"Just had the best news ever! I've got the all clear!" he posted.

"Will be back in action in the Shanghai Masters. Thank you everyone for all your support!"

The Shanghai Masters is a ranking event and takes place in September.
