Snooker player Stephen Lee has failed in his appeal to overturn a 12-year ban for match-fixing.
The former world number five was hit with the punishment and a £40,000 fine last year after he was found guilty of fixing seven matches between 2008 and 2009.
Lee, who has maintained his innocence throughout, faced an independent appeal committee today, but his ban has been upheld and he will be forced to pay a further £35,000 in costs.
Lee will be allowed to compete again on October 12, 2024, which will be the player's 50th birthday.
