Disgraced snooker player Stephen Lee sets up an academy to mentor children in China.

Banned snooker player Stephen Lee is starting an academy dedicated to developing the sport in China.

The former world number five, who was handed a 12-year suspension for match-fixing in 2013, will travel to the Asian country once a month to mentor children in Shenzhen.

"I've seen a lot of talent here, it's raw talent and they are very capable young players," Lee told BBC Sport. "I'm very impressed."

He added: "I'm hoping to get involved and bring some really good young players through for the future."

Lee was found guilty of fixing seven snooker matches in 2008 and 2009, including his World Championship first-round defeat to Ryan Day.
