Russia take synchronised swimming gold at European Games

Valeriya Filenko and Daria Kulagina help Russian Federation to gold in the synchronised swimming team event, their second medal of the day in Baku.

Russian Federation have won gold in the synchronised swimming team event, just hours after victory in the duets final.

Valeriya Filenko and Daria Kulagina, the duets pairing at the Baku Aquatics Centre, competed alongside teammates to win ahead of Spain and Ukraine.

Russia's final score of 169.0992 was more than seven clear of Spain (162.0406), while Great Britain finished down in ninth place after scoring 144.6049.

The gold is Russia's ninth of the European Games, and gives them breathing space ahead of Azerbaijan in the medals table.
