Great Britain's Daniel Wallace has claimed that he and his teammates are delighted to have knocked the USA off the top spot following their 4x200m freestyle relay gold at the World Championships in Kazan.
Wallace, Robbie Renwick, Calum Jarvis and James Guy smashed a British record to take the world title in 7:04.33.
Prior to today's final, the USA had won this event five consecutive times, while Britain had never taken gold in its history.
"[The USA have] always been pretty successful, but I think over the years we've improved," Renwick told BBC Sport. "The way this meet has been going, there was no way we weren't going to go for gold. It's always good to knock [the USA] off the top."
Great Britain have won eight medals so far, including five golds, one of which came from Guy in the 200m freestyle final.
