Ben Proud: 'There is still more to come in final'

Great Britain's Ben Proud says that there is "more to come" after qualifying for the men's 50m freestyle final.

Great Britain's Ben Proud has placed emphasis on reaching the final of the 50m freestyle final over breaking the British record on Thursday night.

Proud produced one of the performances of his career to progress as the fifth-fastest qualifier, and he has suggested that he feels capable of earning a medal in what promises to be a highly-competitive final.

The 21-year-old told BBC Sport: "It's great. British record or not it's a ticket to the final.

"My start wasn't as good as I hoped. I felt really good and composed and I'm really happy with that result. I think there's more to come tomorrow."

Proud won gold in the same event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
