Andy Murray: I must continue playing "great tennis"

British number one Andy Murray says that in order to break into the world's top four, he must continue playing some "great tennis".

Andy Murray has targeted a spot among the world elite having finally secured a place at the ATP World Tour Finals.

The British number one earned a 6-3 6-3 victory against Grigor Dimitrov - the man who knocked him out of Wimbledon earlier this year - to join Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka and Marin Cilic in reaching the next month's showpiece event in London.

It means a seventh successive appearance at the season-ending championship for Murray, who is now looking to break into the world's top four.

"I've been asked a lot about that throughout the year - whether I would ever get back to the top four, five or top 10 players in the world," he is quoted as saying by the Glasgow Evening Times.

"I've done the first part of that. Hopefully I can keep winning and try to keep moving up the rankings. Stan's played some great tennis this year - he deserves to be where he is.

"If I want to get ahead of him, Novak, Rafa or Roger, I'm going to have to play some great tennis for the next three or four months, and hopefully I can do that."

Murray takes on Djokovic in the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters later today.
