Britian's Jamie Baker insists that he feels comfortable in a Grand Slam environment despite losing a tough match to Lukas Rosol at the Australian Open yesterday.

Britain's Jamie Baker has declared that he will try to look at the positives from his first-round defeat to Lukas Rosol at the Australian Open yesterday.

Baker served to win a set on two separate occasions but fell in straight sets to Rosol, a man best remembered for a stunning win over Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon last year.

The Scot is still searching for his first victory at a Grand Slam but feels that on another day his performance would have been good enough to earn the win.

He said: "It's very hard to think about congratulating myself on what happened this week because I genuinely don't feel out of place at this level.

"It wasn't a big deal today, it was just a first-round match, it was just an opportunity and I feel like that's actually my level.

"Rosol is like a freak show. Some of the tennis he played, if he was able to do that the whole time, he's be top 20 in the world, no problem. And he isn't."

Baker also revealed that he plans to head to either Zagreb or Montpellier next week to enter a qualifier for an ATP event in an effort to boost his ranking.
